London, 20th March 2017: The Box Plus Network, the UK’s largest and most-watched music television network, has today announced a partnership with Europe’s most prolific festival for new music, The Great Escape.
The partnership not only takes the festival to fans nationwide across the network’s linear and digital channels – but expands upon the year-long Box Fresh campaign, which supports emerging artists through original content on-air and on digital. This year, The Box Plus Network will broadcast over 3000 hours of dedicated programming across the network – giving viewers access to behind the scenes content, artist interviews, performances and more.
Turning up the volume even further, this year’s festival will feature the Box Fresh stage on 18th May. The stage will host live performances (from 8pm-11pm), featuring an incredible line up which includes; Ray BLK, dubbed ‘the Lauren Hill of the UK’, rising singer-songwriter, Jerry Williams, edgy soul singer Mullaly and rapper Avelino.
To give the audience a real flavour of one of the UK’s most exciting music festivals, Box Plus’ flagship live show Trending Live will relocate to the seafront on the 18th of May, overlooking Brighton Pier, to introduce some of the freshest, emerging artists to our music-hungry audience with live interviews and performances direct from the festival. The network will also produce and broadcast a series of The Great Escape themed programming, across the network, which celebrates the amazing festival line-up.
Matt Rennie, Managing Director at The Box Plus Network, says: “In 2017 we’ve committed ourselves to helping fantastic new and emerging talent use our platform to reach our music-hungry mass audience. Partnering with The Great Escape, who’s mission is so closely aligned to ours made immediate sense and we can’t wait to bring some of this brilliant festival live and direct to our audience. There’s so many exciting and brilliant new artists and brand new music booked to perform there.”
Kevin Moore, Festival Manager at The Great Escape, says: “The Box Plus Network have such a unique and fun approach to giving upcoming artists a platform to be heard, and we can’t wait for them to bring their Trending Live show down to the festival. They share our passion for shining a spotlight on home-grown talent and are able to tap into such an exclusive audience, reaching the next generation of tastemakers. We’re thrilled to have such an exciting and innovative media partner on board.”
Taking place between 18-20 May 2017, The Great Escape showcases over 450 artists from across the globe. It is the first place to discover new artists and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages.
